Rates & Insurance

Private Pay

The private pay fee for therapy services is:

$145 per 50-minute session.

Extended sessions are offered at these rates:

  • 80-minute sessions: $215

  • 110-minute session: $285

*Due to billing restrictions, extended sessions are not typically covered by insurance. If you have questions on how to check for coverage for extended sessions, please reach out!

Insurance

I am currently in-network with:

  • BlueCross & BlueShield of Texas

  • Cigna

  • Aetna

  • Ascension (SmartHealth)

  • Quest Behavioral Health

  • Carelon Behavioral Health

  • Oxford (Optum)

  • Oscar (Optum)

  • United Healthcare (Optum)

It is your responsibility as the client to verify insurance coverage. The best way to do this is to contact your insurance provider. If insurance does not cover sessions, you are responsible for fees incurred.

Out of Network

If I am out of network with your insurance, but you still want to work with me, you may be able to check your insurance benefits for out of network coverage. Some helpful questions to ask about reimbursement might be:

  • Does my plan provide me with out-of-network benefits for therapy or counseling services?

  • Am I covered to see a Licensed Professional Counselor?

  • Is there a deductible that I need to meet before I am reimbursed?

  • How much of the fee will be reimbursed? *If they will cover a percentage of the “allowed fee”, ask how much the allowed fee is. There can be confusion about the allowed fee vs the full fee. For example, if the “allowed fee” is $75, and they cover 40%, you would be reimbursed $30.

If you plan to seek OON reimbursement, you would be charged for the full session fee at the time of each session. I can then provide you with a superbill (like a receipt that has needed information to include diagnostic and session codes) that you submit to your insurance. Once they receive it, process it, and approve it, they will send reimbursement to you if you have met your OON deductible. One thing to note is that ultimately, your insurance provider is who determines if they are reimbursing for a service and if it qualifies under your specific plan. As such, make sure you are getting all of the applicable information directly from your insurance company.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please contact me at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time.

If a session is cancelled within 24 hours, or you no-show for your appointment, a fee of $65 will be incurred.

Insurance will not pay for missed sessions.

Good Faith Estimate

Beginning January 1, 2022, federal laws regulating client care have been updated to include the “No Surprises” Act. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

While there are a number of factors that can make it challenging to provide an estimate on how long it will take for a client to complete therapeutic treatment, in general, you can expect to pay the following:

  • $145 for each 50-minute session

  • $215 for each 80-minute session

  • $285 for each 110-minute session

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
